Fundex Equipment Service (FMD)

Fundex FMD Machine rental, rental

Fundex Equipment Services—responsible for Fundex’s fleet of machinery—is equipped with a modern fleet, including Fundex F3500 and F4800(E) machines fitted with (partially) Stage V low-emission engines or even fully electric powertrains.

All of the machinery runs on GTL (gas-to-liquid) fuel, which reduces local emissions of particulate matter, nitrogen oxides, and sulfur oxides.

Wherever electrification is feasible, it will be implemented. For example, all grout injection pumps (currently diesel-powered) will be replaced with electric units.

Each machine is equipped with a data logging system. This system records all drilling parameters for each pile and then transmits the data to the office. There, the data is further processed, analyzed, and presented to the customer in graphical form.

The engineering department at FMD is responsible for improving and upgrading existing machines, as well as for the development and refinement of machine and drilling technologies.

Finally, FMD has an experienced technical service team, consisting of technicians and welders/fitters, who can provide support when needed and respond immediately in the event of an emergency. Several fully equipped service and welding vans are available for this purpose.

The new FUNDEX CD20E

A zero-emission, electric-powered compact foundation machine.

Compact foundation machine for installing various types of piles a wide range of situations.

The CD20E offers several advantages, including:

Reduced Emissions
The electric-powered CD20E produces no direct emissions, resulting in a lower environmental impact compared to its diesel-powered counterparts. This is particularly important in areas with strict emissions regulations or in projects where environmental friendliness is a priority.

Reduced noise level
Quieter operation: The CD20E is quieter than its diesel counterparts. This can be beneficial in densely populated urban areas or environmentally sensitive areas where noise pollution is a major concern.

Flexibility and Versatility
Variable speed control: Electric motors offer better control over speed and torque, enabling more precise and flexible operations. This is particularly useful in applications that require variable drilling speeds.

Emissions standards:
Compliance with emissions standards: As environmental regulations become stricter, the CD20E offers an excellent alternative for meeting these standards, especially in areas where strict emissions standards apply or where the use of diesel-powered equipment is restricted.

By developing and deploying electric-powered foundation machines in our projects, Fundex is committed to working together with its

clients and partners: the foundation for a sustainable future.

Toward a Cleaner Construction Site

Nexus is a sustainable life sciences building with offices and laboratories for scale-ups, currently under construction by Dura Vermeer at the Bio Science Park in Leiden. Nexus is aiming for BREEAM Excellent certification, an international standard for classifying buildings based on sustainability and energy efficiency. Both during the design and construction phases, ecological, social, and economic sustainability performance is taken into account to create a work environment for companies that, like Fundex, want to reduce their environmental impact.

An initial successful trial of the Fundex F4800E has been conducted in Leiden. Fundex collaborated on this project with Greener and Dura Vermeer Bouw Zuid. The foundation work was carried out using a zero-emission drilling rig. The F4800E was equipped with a vibration-free drill bit, which allowed for consideration of the immediate neighbors.

Fundex has been working for some time now on making its light and heavy foundation machinery more sustainable, and in recent years we have seen that we are actually receiving contracts for this. Collaboration with the customer, as well as with suppliers of batteries and software, and specific expertise in electrification and wiring, is essential. Less noise means less disturbance in urban areas and results in a completely different experience of construction work for the local community. We are on the right track in the foundation industry and will certainly be ready to meet the ESG guidelines for 2030, 2040, and 2050! Onward to a cleaner construction site!
